Specialization with design of fine leather fashion gloves has been defined and explored for the last couple of years, since coming in contact with the French glove house Agnelle in 2007.
AGNELLE (since 1937) has a history of being the glove producer of many French fashion houses, such as Dior, Lanvin, Longchamp. They have their own line of commercial gloves and a couple of creative lines together with designers, such as the line THOMASINE by AGNELLE which was first launched in Tokyo December 2008 and later in Paris autumn 2009. The original factory in St Junien still produces prototypes and collections, but a large part are since twenty years back made in the Philippines.
By designing collections for the Agnelle and having an own collection, there has been an opportunity to make a great variety of models for a diverse market. Working with nappa, suede, knitwear, lace and jersey textiles. The direct contact with the production has given an advantage to be able to develop gloves in a constructional way, based on shape and surface enrichment.
Educational background lies with design of accessories and fashion textiles at Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Earlier in Sweden the focus was on silversmithing and mathematics.
Thomasine was born in the south of Sweden in 1982.
